Why should you use a CPAP?
A continuous high-pressure positive airway (CPAP) apparatus is the best-recommended treatment for sleep apnea-related disorders.
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) results in the interruption or stoppage of breathing, usually because your airways and throat may temporarily collapse, or something interferes with them.
This machine provides constant oxygen flow through your mouth and nose while you rest. It helps keep your airways clear and aids you in breathing comfortably.
A CPAP device's compressor (motor) creates an uninterrupted flow of air pressurized that is pushed by an air filter and into a flexible tube. The tube can deliver pure air into the form of a mask that fits your mouth or nose.
When you are asleep as you sleep, the airstream of the machine blocks any obstructions and opens your airways to ensure that your lungs are getting lots of oxygen.
With nothing obstructing the flow of oxygen and your breathing will not stop. This means that you don't have to wake up to breathe again.
DeVilbiss CPAP with IntelliPAP Auto-Adjust function can be used in both conventional CPAP and auto Adjust modes.
Auto-Adjust features include:
- Pressure adjustment that is automatically dependent on the event's density and the type
- Apnea can be defined in an adjustable way, as well as hypopnea (percentage and duration)
- Pressure limits that can be adjusted for upper and lower pressure limit
- Set up for a variable delay that can last as long as four hours
- The automatic detection and detection of mask conditions as well as ultra-sensitive Snoring detection
The device is patented with SmartFlex(r) technology, which provides three different comfort settings that correspond to exactly a 1 cm H20 drop in pressure on exhalation.
DeVilbiss SmartFlex is also equipped with patented Flow Rounding that changes the waveform curve as you transition between prescription pressure and SmartFlex setting and reverses.
This allows for the smooth transition of sleep and lowers the CPAP user's chances of waking.
The levels include six flow-rounding, including level zero with the highest slope and fastest transition, while level five has the least slope and the longest transition.
The DeVilbiss IntelliPAP Model DV54 Series Auto Adjust CPAP is designed to help treat OSA in patients who breathe spontaneously at 30 kilograms (66 pounds.) and over by applying positive air pressure. The device can be used in both the home and the clinical environment.
